What time is it?
A simple question, but not always easy to answer!
Do you know the time difference between where you live and New York City? How about Melbourne, Australia? Need to sign up for a webinar that takes place live at 7:00 p.m. in London, but you reside in Omaha, Nebraska in the good old USA?
Though you may not think this problem applies to you now, it will at some time in the future as the world expands and the global community builds.
Luckily, a growing number of websites make it easy to know not only the proper time to sync your watch, but also to organize and schedule your life’s activities on a global scale.
TimeTicker
Need to know at a glance the time somewhere else in the world? Well, just log onto www.timeticker.com, click on any area of the world and check out the “real” time locally.
It is also handy for figuring out that pesky “Greenwich Mean Time” you hear about occasionally but have no clue how it relates to your particular time zone. You can also search for the time by country listed in the lower right of the site (just in case you don’t quite know Armenia’s location on the globe).
Time .gov
For people residing in the United States of America (or Puerto Rico), logging on to www.time.gov rates indispensable for quickly getting the local time through your web browser. Accurate to within .2 seconds, this clock makes a great place to go for getting the proper time of day for your watch as well as checking local times if you travel across country.
The site also gives you options to automatically use this Internet clock to set the clock on your computer. Log on to http://time.gov/about.html for more information.
TimeandDate.com
www.TimeandDate.com offers an entire suite of tools to help you not only know the time locally, but also compare your local time side by side with any other location in the world. This comparison tool makes the site invaluable if you need to make an international phone call or attend a webinar or tele-seminar.
Time and Date also offers a handy tool that enables you to display a clickable widget with local time on your website. When a site visitor clicks the link they can then go to the TimeandDate.com website to do a time conversion, if necessary.
Telling the time is something we all take for granted, until life and scheduling throw us a curve. Now, you can tell the time anywhere in the world down to the second. (But don’t forget to wind your watch!)
